HIV Counselling Clinic RIDU (Regional Infectious Diseases Unit) Appointments can normally be arranged within 1 – 2 weeks. Same
day tests are available on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 8.45am and
10.30am. Results are available within 48 hours for tests done on: Positive Help 13a Great King Street Positive Help works with those who are diagnosed HIV, their families,
friends and carers. The project recruits and trains volunteers, matches
volunteers with those in need of practical assistance, and responds to
requests for assistance from those in need. Positive Voice 37-39 Montrose Terrace http://www.positive-voice.org.uk/ Positive Voice is a self help organisation for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS in Lothian which offers advocacy and peer support as well as complementary therapies. All services are free. ROAM OutreachROAM Outreach Team [email protected] A confidential and anonymous service for cruising men and male sex workers, providing outreach and support – online and in cruising areas, sexual health and safer sex information, police and legal facts, drug advice, personal safety tips, free condoms and lube. Waverley Care Solas 2/4 Abbeymount SOLAS provides support services, information and an informal meeting place for people living with HIV. JUICE is an informal support and social group for gay and bisexual men affected by HIV/AIDS and meets on Fridays at Solas. Newly diagnosed men and long term survivors are welcome. Waverley Care Buddies Waverley Care Buddy Service 'Buddies' are trained volunteer befrienders, trained and supported by Waverley Care, who support people who use the service outside Waverley Care premises i.e. at home, in prison etc. and offer Offers emotional, social and occasionally practical support to people living with HIV who live in Edinburgh or the Lothian regions.
